Power Boost For Communities With 132kV

As a result, the project will end frequent blackouts and stimulate development across the corridor.

Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Energy, AbdulHafeez Toriola, addressed stakeholders during a recent meeting.

He explained that inconsistent power supply has long disrupted homes, businesses, and daily life in the area.

“Therefore, this project will ensure steady electricity and allow the community to thrive,” Toriola said.

Infrastructure And Planning

Moreover, the engagement tackled practical concerns, including land use, road construction, and the Right-of-Way for the transmission line.

In addition, the government plans a gas pipeline stretching from Bonny Camp to Alaro City in Epe.

Officials assured residents and property owners that they will receive fair compensation for structures affected by the project.

Director of Acquisitions, Olawale Ojikutu, Revocation and Compensation at the Lagos State Lands Bureau, emphasised the importance of valid land titles.

“Once we complete surveys and inventories, we will consider every affected property and provide proper compensation,” he said.

This meeting followed an earlier engagement in February 2026, marking the second consultation with the community.

Path To Modern Lagos

Furthermore, Commissioner Biodun Ogunleye said the projects will make electricity, gas, and drainage systems more accessible to residents.

He added that these developments support Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision of a 21st-century Lagos economy.

The transmission line forms part of a broader plan to generate six gigawatts of electricity over three years, reducing dependence on the national grid.

For residents, the project represents more than infrastructure; it actively paves the way for growth, stability, and modernised living.
