Speaking during a recent live broadcast, the actress disclosed that she has been diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Also, she was recently evicted from her residence.

This is a situation she described as leaving her “homeless and desperate.”

Halima Abubakar explained that her financial difficulties worsened after she spent her savings on her mother’s hernia surgery.

The surgery reportedly cost ₦9 million in October last year.

Also, she  added that attempts to use money previously donated for her medical treatment to pay her rent were unsuccessful, as her landlady allegedly rejected the payment and asked her to vacate the property.

In the emotional video, the actress called on well-meaning Nigerians and prominent figures for help.

Also, she mentioned former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, social media activist VeryDarkMan, and Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.

I have just been evicted from my house. I have a brain tumour, and I have nowhere to go,” she said. “The money contributed for my surgery was rejected by my landlady when I tried to use it for rent.”

Abubakar stressed that she was not seeking attention or sympathy.

She insisted that her health condition is genuine.

Furthermore, she dismissed claims that she was exaggerating her illness to solicit funds.

The actress describes such accusations as painful and unfair.

This is not the first time Abubakar has sought public assistance.

In 2022, she announced her withdrawal from acting due to health challenges.

However, in February 2025, she appealed to the Kogi State government for support, though she did not disclose details of her illness at the time.
