Actress Ini Edo has showered praises on Nollywood powerhouses Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham for their record-breaking achievements and relentless push for excellence in the Nigerian film industry.
Taking to Instagram, Ini Edo described the duo as industry titans whose dedication, strategy, and marketing brilliance have taken Nollywood to new heights.
According to her, their level of commitment is simply unmatched.
“I want to congratulate these industry titans, @funkejenifaakindele and @toyinabraham, for literally breaking all records and pushing beyond every envelope to record these groundbreaking successes for Nollywood,” she wrote.
“My respect for these two has taken a hike. The level of commitment, strategising, marketing, and playing the game generally is on a whole different level.”
While celebrating her colleagues’ wins, Edo also reflected on her own recent project, A Very Dirty December.
Also, she admitted that her journey followed a different path — one that required personal sacrifice.
The actress revealed that she gave up her holiday season to pursue what she described as an ambitious goal, trusting her instincts despite the challenges.
“I knew it was kinda overambitious to think I could run the whole December race, but I’ve always followed my gut,” she said.
“I sacrificed my holiday to achieve my ambition, and I’m particularly proud of myself and my team.”
