Popular Nigerian Afrobeat singer Afeez Adeshina, widely known as Destiny Boy, has passed away at the age of 22.
The news of his death was confirmed on Sunday, January 18, 2025.
This follows the circulation of a disturbing video on social media showing the singer’s lifeless body.
Also, the development has since thrown fans and members of the entertainment industry into mourning.
As of the time of filing this report, Destiny Boy’s body is reportedly being transported to Abeokuta, Ogun State, where he will be laid to rest.
The cause of death has not yet been officially disclosed.
Destiny Boy rose to prominence in 2019 after his Fuji-inspired cover of Davido’s hit song “If” went viral.
This earns him widespread recognition and establishing him as one of the most promising young voices in Nigeria’s music scene.
