Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has reportedly escaped police arrest following allegations that he assaulted his fourth baby mama, actress Ashabi Simple.
The incident allegedly occurred on Thursday, January 1, 2026, during Ashabi’s visit to the singer’s bar in Ogun State
A viral video from the scene showed Ashabi holding onto Portable’s clothing while expressing frustration over being repeatedly referred to as his baby mama. She insisted that the singer should acknowledge her as his wife.
“Oya pami baby, I’m also your wife. You have to stop calling me your baby mama,” she said.
Portable, however, pushed her aside and responded that he only recognises one wife, Bewaji.
Also, he added that all other women who have children for him are baby mamas.
“I only have one wife. The rest of you are just baby mamas,” the singer said, further escalating the confrontation.
An emotional Ashabi reportedly responded, “Then you will have to kill me, baby,” as the argument intensified.
Following the altercation, Ashabi and her siblings reportedly reported the singer to the police for assault and abuse.
In a video shared on Instagram, Ashabi claimed that police officers later went to Portable’s residence but only met his pregnant wife, Bewaji, as the singer had already fled.
She further alleged that the incident began after Portable invited her to his bar and that a minor disagreement quickly turned violent.
“I celebrated the New Year happily with my family. You were the one who called me and said you were in a bad mood. You asked me to bring New Year food to your bar. When I got there and we had a minor disagreement, you slapped me, beat me up, seized our phones and threatened my siblings and me with an axe,” she alleged.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions online.
Some Nigerians are criticising Ashabi for allegedly forcing herself on the singer, while others expressed concern over what they described as low self-esteem and a toxic relationship.
