The Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has declared that no amount of money, including one billion dollars, can persuade him to participate in partisan politics.

One Billion Dollars Can’t Lure Me Into Politics – Bishop Oyedepo

Oyedepo made the statement while addressing worshippers during the impartation service at the church’s annual convocation, Shiloh 2025.

He urged members of the church to remain focused on their divine assignments and avoid pursuits that fall outside their God-given calling.

According to the cleric, political engagement does not align with his life’s purpose.

He stressed that even a financial incentive as large as one billion dollars would not sway his decision, describing partisan politics as being “off his course.”

Reflecting on past events, Bishop Oyedepo recalled warnings he gave to the church in 2015 about impending challenges, noting that those troubles eventually came to pass.

He added that the world is currently facing deepening crises that require divine solutions rather than human efforts alone.

Citing Romans 8:19, the bishop stated that the world is “groaning in darkness” and waiting for the manifestation of the children of God.

He emphasised that believers who remain committed to their divine purpose would be empowered to provide solutions to national and global challenges, likening such individuals to biblical figures such as Joseph and Daniel.
