Nigerian global music star Burna Boy has pledged to cover the funeral expenses for the four children who lost their lives in the recent mass shooting in California, United States.

The Afrobeats singer revealed that the tragic incident deeply affected him after he first heard about it on The Breakfast Club radio show.

According to a statement released on his behalf, the Last Last hitmaker said he immediately reached out to music executive Wack 100 and media personality Jason Lee after learning the heartbreaking details of the tragedy.

When I heard about the children who were killed in Stockton, my heart broke,” Burna Boy said.

“After hearing the story on The Breakfast Club, I reached out to Wack 100 and connected with Jason Lee because no family should ever face this kind of pain alone. I wanted to do whatever I could to support these parents as they begin the long process of healing.”

The 34-year-old artiste was said to be particularly moved by the story of Amari Peterson.

He is a 14-year-old high-achieving student-athlete with a 3.8 GPA, whose life was tragically cut short in the attack.

Speaking on the gesture, Stockton Vice Mayor Jason Lee praised Burna Boy’s compassion.

He noted that “his generosity is an example of how people across the world want to help, even when they have never met the families affected.

The shooting occurred on Saturday, November 29, at a crowded banquet hall in northern Stockton.

This is shortly before 6 p.m., where between 100 and 150 people had gathered for a children’s birthday celebration.

Four young people were killed, while 11 others sustained injuries.

Among the victims identified so far are eight-year-old Maya Lupian and 21-year-old Susano Archuleta.

According to authorities, early findings suggest the incident may have been a targeted attack.

A spokesperson for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, Heather Brent, confirmed that investigations remain “very active and ongoing.”
