Nigerian global music icon Burna Boy has pledged ongoing annual support to the Boston Arts Academy Bodega.
This is a student-run pantry that provides snacks and essential items to help pupils dealing with food insecurity and gaps in SNAP benefits.

The Grammy winner made an unannounced visit to the school this week, stunning students and staff with his generosity and hands-on involvement.
Videos from the visit showed Burna Boy personally helping students restock shelves as excited teenagers cheered and crowded around him.
Also, the atmosphere shifted from surprise to celebration when the singer took the stage and announced that his THE REACH Foundation would fund the bodega every year, ensuring long-term stability for the programme.
The foundation has supported numerous community initiatives in Nigeria, and this expansion into the diaspora was met with heartfelt appreciation.
The school’s principal expressed gratitude for the life-changing gesture, while students described the moment as inspiring and unforgettable.
Rising Boston artiste Ruthzee Louijeune praised Burna Boy for giving young creatives “a reminder that their dreams are valid and supported.”

Although a small group of critics labelled the move “a publicity stunt,” the overwhelming reaction from the school community was one of joy, gratitude, and renewed hope for students who rely on the bodega for daily support.
