Nollywood actress and media personality Toke Makinwa has urged mothers of newborns to avoid bathing their babies every day, warning that frequent baths could harm delicate skin.

In a video shared on her social media platforms, the actress, who recently became a mother at 40, emphasised that babies are naturally clean.
She noted that the womb, where infants develop for nine months, is not dirty.
“I don’t bathe my baby every day because it is not necessary.”
“Babies are not on the floor; they are not dirty or sweaty.”
“So, why are you excessively putting water on their skin? Their skin is fragile.”
“You can wipe them instead of bathing them every day,” Makinwa explained.
She added that this approach has worked well for her and encouraged other nursing mothers to consider it.
