The Nigeria Police Force has debunked reports claiming that Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo was declared wanted by the Force.
In a statement shared via its official X handle on Thursday, August 21, 2025, the police described the viral “wanted notice” carrying Ojo’s photograph as false and misleading, stressing that it did not originate from the Force.

The fake poster, inscribed with “SPECIAL POLICE WANTED,” circulated widely on social media earlier in the week, sparking confusion and reactions from Nigerians.
Clarifying the situation, the NPF stated, “The recent Wanted Person Bulletin circulating stating that the Nollywood Actress, Iyabo Ojo, is wanted by the Office of The IGP Monitoring Unit is NOT an official communication from the Force.”
The Police urged the public to disregard the notice and verify information through official platforms to avoid falling victim to misinformation.
