Social media influencers Martins Otse, better known as Verydarkman (VDM), and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, popularly called Mr. Jollof, reportedly came to blows during a commercial flight from Asaba to Lagos.
The incident unfolded aboard a United Nigerian Airline aircraft and was first brought to public attention by Dr. Paul Ezikel, who shared a video of the altercation on his Facebook page early Monday morning.

According to Dr. Ezikel’s post, the two men were traveling on the same United Nigerian Airline flight when the disagreement turned physical.
The confrontation surprised fellow passengers, who captured parts of the scuffle on video.

This is not the first time VDM and Mr. Jollof have publicly sparred. Their tensions have spilled repeatedly into social media.
Sources say that VDM had previously accused Mr. Jollof’s wife of consorting with internet fraudsters (“Yahoo boys”), provoking a fiery response from the comedian.
In the aftermath of the flight altercation, VDM confirmed the incident in a video posted on his Facebook page, describing his hand in the conflict:
“I don chop Jollof father for inside plane. He bite me, man wey de bite,” he said, using a mix of pidgin and English to suggest he got the better of Mr. Jollof.
