Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, widely known as Baba Ijesha, has officially been added to the Lagos State Sex Offenders Register following the completion of his prison term for the sexual assault of a minor.
Baba Ijesha was convicted in 2021 for offences involving a 14-year-old girl, was recently released from custody.

A viral but unverified video captured him sitting inside a vehicle shortly after his release, appearing relieved and saying he needed rest.
His inclusion in the offenders’ register comes after misleading claims circulated online suggesting that the Court of Appeal had overturned his conviction.
The Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, SAN, refuted the rumours, describing them as false and irresponsible.
He also cautioned actor Yomi Fabiyi and others spreading the misinformation to stop deceiving the public.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, in a statement shared on X.
They reaffirmed the Attorney-General’s clarification and confirmed that Baba Ijesha’s name has now been entered in the register in accordance with Section 37 of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual ViOlence Agency Law of 2021.
The agency noted that the move is aimed at safeguarding minors, reinforcing accountability, and ensuring the availability of accurate public information.

Comedienne Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, had earlier urged authorities during a November 15, 2025 Instagram live session to ensure his name was added to the register.
