Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana (SAN), has countered U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims
He alleged that a targeted “genocide” on Christians in Nigeria, insisting the narrative is misleading and untrue.

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Falana stated that insecurity remains a major national issue.
However, he portrays the situation as a religious war is inaccurate and dangerous.
According to him, Trump’s comments risk exacerbating tensions by misrepresenting the country’s complex security challenges.
Falana stressed that the federal government must view the situation as a reminder of its constitutional responsibility to protect every citizen, regardless of religion or ethnicity.
He questioned why armed groups continue to operate unchecked despite ongoing security efforts.
Trump had recently alleged that “radical Islamists” were carrying out mass slaughters of Christians in Nigeria.
He declares Christianity to be under existential threat in the country and calling on U.S. lawmakers to investigate the matter.
Falana dismissed the claims, arguing that such remarks oversimplify and distort the reality on ground.
