Popular dancer and wellness advocate, Kaffy, has issued a strong reminder to parents to protect their children by enforcing firm boundaries, even with well-known family members and close friends.

She stressed that many unpleasant incidents involving children often come from “favourite uncles and aunties”

Kaffy noted that African households sometimes normalise physical closeness and unsolicited touching, hugs, or body-related comments from adults, without thinking about the child’s emotional safety or consent.

She encouraged parents to teach kids the power of saying “no”, and to keep greetings simple — such as a polite greeting and a handshake instead of forced hugs or physical affection.
