Nigerian singer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has finally spoken out after false reports of his death went viral on social media.

Terry G Vows Never To Retire from Music

The “Free Madness” crooner took to Instagram to debunk the rumours and also clear the air about his controversial statement on The Honest Bunch podcast, where he claimed, “I sing for the devil. I’m falling short of the glory of God.”

In a now-deleted video shared on his Instagram page, Terry G, speaking in pidgin, said:

“How una dey my people? Social media, ma pami now. My phone has been buzzing since morning.”

“People have been calling to check on me that they saw something online about my R.I.P saying Terry G don die.”

“I beg oo, whoever is trending that news should stop. I’m doing very fine, please stop that. I beg you in the name of God.”

He also addressed the viral controversy surrounding his remarks about serving the devil.

“Una no know before? Una no know say na the devil I dey serve? Yes na devil I dey serve. Na devil make me blow (popular),” the singer said jokingly.

Terry G’s comments have since sparked mixed reactions among fans, with many debating whether the artiste was being literal or sarcastic.
