Social media went into a frenzy after reports surfaced alleging that Tanzanian singer Juma Jux’s luxury boutique was set on fire during political unrest in the country.

However, the singer’s wife, Priscilla Ojo, has clarified the situation.
Addressing the viral claims, Priscilla denied that the store was burnt down, explaining instead that it was looted amid the chaos following Tanzania’s tense presidential election.
According to reports, the looting occurred after violent protests broke out in several parts of Dar es Salaam, as supporters of opposition parties clashed with security forces over alleged election irregularities.
Businesses in the area were vandalized, with Juma Jux’s boutique among those affected.
Neither Juma Jux nor Priscilla has issued any further comment on the incident.
