The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has unveiled a digital system to simplify inbound parcel payments.
Developing the platform with Paystack, Messenger, and Sendbox, NIPOST streamlines customs duties, postal fees, and charges.

Furthermore, the system provides real-time customs calculations, online payments, and door-to-door tracking for Nigerians.
NIPOST Made Digital Payments Simple
At the Abuja launch, NIPOST highlighted the initiative as a major milestone in modernising postal services.
Moreover, representing the Communications Minister, Mr Rafiu O. Adeladan praised NIPOST for collaborating with private-sector innovators.
He explained that inefficiencies in parcel handling have long frustrated Nigerians, especially small e-commerce business owners.
In addition, hidden customs fees, long queues, and unpredictable payments have made parcel delivery challenging.

Addressing Customer Frustrations
NIPOST CEO, Engr. Tola Odeyemi, emphasised that the system provides convenience, transparency, and trust for customers.
She clarified that surprise charges at post offices represent one of the most persistent complaints.
“Many Nigerians share frustrations online and in post offices, which highlights gaps in communication and service delivery,” she added.
Strengthening Trade And Innovation
Odeyemi also pointed out that the partnership demonstrates how legacy institutions can innovate by collaborating with technology firms.
Consequently, the launch reinforces NIPOST’s commitment to building a digital postal ecosystem supporting trade and e-commerce growth.
Earlier in the year, NIPOST announced plans to expand financial services by leveraging its IMTO and Super Agent licences.
Ultimately, the digital solution aims to improve service, support financial inclusion, and strengthen Nigeria’s overall digital economy.
