Olamide Says He’s Not Seeking International Validation

In an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, the “Local Rapper” crooner said he is proud to be an indigenous artiste and has no intention of altering his sound to appeal to a Western audience.

“You have to identify your audience. Once you identify your audience, the rest of the world will catch up eventually,” Olamide stated.

“I’m comfortable in my skin. I’m a Naija guy, Yoruba boy, I have H-Factor and all that, and I’m proud about it. You just have to stay true to yourself.”

Olamide, who has built a solid reputation in the Nigerian music scene, reaffirmed that authenticity and cultural pride remain the core of his artistry.
