Reality TV star Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has publicly accused a popular Abuja hotel of negligence, alleging that she was detained and assaulted over claims of property damage worth ₦3.5 million.
The Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, who recently trended after a viral video showed her in a heated altercation with another woman, took to Instagram to narrate her ordeal.
According to Phyna, the incident occurred at a hotel in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja, where she claimed a group of touts gained unauthorised access to her room and physically attacked her.
Also, the reality star alleged that the hotel’s management failed to ensure her safety, allowing the intruders to bypass security checkpoints and even disclosing her room number.
“Because I’m Phyna, I’m being forced by a hotel that couldn’t secure me in their premises. A hotel that allowed touts through their main gate, through reception, up to the second floor to break down the door,” she lamented.
Phyna further alleged that after the assault, the hotel threatened to detain her until Monday if she refused to pay for the alleged damages.
“Dalchifit Hotel in Gwarinpa allowed touts to come into the hotel to fight me, and now they’re about to lock me up till Monday because I refused to pay ₦3.5 million,” she added.
The reality star expressed frustration over her recent challenges, noting that 2025 has been a particularly distressing year for her.
“This 2025 for just take me leave my sister,” she wrote, hinting at emotional exhaustion.

As of the time of this report, the hotel management is yet to release an official statement addressing Phyna’s allegations.
