Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has spoken candidly about her decision to undergo body enhancement surgery, revealing that it stemmed from struggles with body image after childbirth.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, the mother of three explained that while she had always been naturally busty, her post-pregnancy figure left her unhappy and insecure.
“I didn’t have an hourglass shape. Starting to have babies didn’t help matters for me. I didn’t like what I saw when I looked at myself after my third child. I felt I owed it to myself to be happy and confident,” Ogbodo said.
The actress emphasised that the procedure was solely for her mental and emotional well-being, not external validation.
“The surgery wasn’t for anyone else but for me, for my mental health to feel good, okay, and enough. I am enough competition for myself,” she noted.
Ogbodo added that she chose transparency because she believes celebrities should be honest with their fans.
“In this country, people, especially celebrities, are often not honest. Many undergo procedures, disappear, and then return with new bodies without admitting it. Why hide it when you can inspire other women with your story?” she asked.
According to her, sharing her journey is part of her mission to encourage women battling low self-esteem.
Uche Ogbodo also credited her husband for giving full support, understanding her struggles and desire to regain confidence.
