Music executive Ubi Franklin has weighed in on the possibility of a collaboration between Nigerian Afrobeats giants Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, often referred to as the genre’s “Big 3.”

Speaking on a recent episode of the Afropolitan Podcast, Ubi Franklin explained that a joint project between the trio would be difficult, not because of personal animosity, but because their positions as Afrobeats’ leading acts naturally create rivalry rather than collaboration.
The talent manager compared their dynamic to the competition among Nigeria’s top banks,
He stresses that every industry has its “big three,” and music is no different.
“It would be difficult for Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy to come together. I will speak for Davido, I have never heard him once say something ill about Wizkid or Burna Boy. And I’m sure it’s the same for them. But the environment they are in will make it difficult for them to work together,”Ubi Franklin said.
Despite the rivalry, UbiFranklin clarified that the perceived “beef” between the stars is not deeply personal.
