Qatar has tightened its visa rules for Nigerian travellers, and the new restrictions directly reshape how citizens can enter the Gulf state.

Men Barred From Solo Travel
In a notice to its clients, TravelTank, an online travel agency, explained that the Qatari Interior Ministry announced fresh regulations.
The ministry now bars Nigerian men from obtaining tourist or transit visas unless they travel with their families.
Moreover, the directive takes effect immediately and also covers all pending applications.

Officials linked the decision to rising cases of overstays and immigration breaches, and they framed the new policy as a necessary step to strengthen border control.
In addition, the regulations place new demands on visitors.
Only women or families can now apply for visas independently, and applicants must also prove bookings in five-star hotels before authorities process their applications.
As a result, Nigerians face higher financial and practical hurdles, and the policy firmly positions family travel as the only pathway to Qatar.
