Ghanaian actor and model Mawuli Gavor has opened up about why he left his corporate career at a global accounting firm to fully embrace the entertainment industry.
In an interview with Blac Volta, Mawuli Gavor revealed that a single day’s earnings from a creative gig equalled his entire annual salary at the firm.

At the time, Gavor was earning GH¢770 a month, while also struggling to juggle his demanding corporate role with his rising creative opportunities.
Also, he recalled attending early morning photoshoots with brands like Martini and then rushing to his 8 a.m. office job, often leading to missed deadlines and constant apologies to his employers.
Frustrated with the imbalance, Gavor considered abandoning entertainment altogether until a casual conversation with Martini changed everything.
Upon disclosing his salary, equivalent to roughly seven euros a month, the brand offered to pay his entire year’s wages for just one day’s work.
“That moment sealed my decision,” he recounted.
“I sent a message to my HR at KPMG to resign.”
According to him, the shift was not just about the money but about the freedom and flexibility the creative economy provided.
“If you can figure out a way to work within the creative industry, it’s not necessarily that you make so much more money, but you save so much more time,” Gavor explained.
“I can work 30 minutes to make the same money I would have had to work from 9 a.m. till Sunday for.”
