Social commentator Solomon Buchi has shared his thoughts on media personality Toke Makinwa’s announcement about expecting her first child.
He expresses both happiness for her and reservations about the way she tied her decision to God and Jesus.

In a video posted on Instagram, Solomon Buchi congratulated Toke, noting that motherhood is something she has long desired.
However, he argued that her decision to openly connect her choice with spirituality does not align with biblical teachings.
According to him, Christianity emphasises that parenthood should take place within the framework of marriage.
He stressed that having a child outside wedlock, while not necessarily ungodly in itself, should not be “spiritualised” or linked to divine endorsement.
“I am happy that Toke is having a child at almost 40,” Solomon Buchi said.
“It seems like something she really wanted, but I have a problem with mixing Jesus and God with it. As Christians, we must be careful about how we bring God into our personal decisions, especially when they don’t reflect His standards.”
He further explained that testimonies about motherhood can be shared without attributing them to God’s will when the decision falls outside biblical standards.
“Honestly, you can say you wanted to be a mother and now you are one,” he continued.
“But there is no need to bring God into it because the only right way to be a parent, according to His word, is within marriage.”
