The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced that the state has received the first batch of electric buses for public transportation.

This development makes Lagos State the first state in Nigeria to do so.

While announcing the development, Sanwo-Olu emphasised that the electric buses have specific advantages over the other kinds that use diesel or petrol.

According to him, the buses have the ability to decrease carbon emissions and increase efficiency.

He also stated that the people of Lagos could now benefit from cost-efficient transportation.

The governor attributes the success of the initiative to the state government’s collaboration with Oando Clean Energy Limited.
