A strong winter storm in the southern United States has killed three people in Louisiana and left many others without power in six states.

In the eastern part of the country, an estimated 11 million people in Florida and Georgia are still facing the threat of tornadoes.

Officials in Louisiana have confirmed three deaths and dozens of injuries due to the storm.

A 30-year-old woman and her eight-year-old son were found dead in Caddo Parish, northwest of the state.

Different communities across the state have reported severe damage ranging from downed power lines to collapsed buildings, all from the storm.

On Thursday, about 10,000 people are reported to be without power in various parts of the state.

About 70,000 other people in Wisconsin, were reported to be without power on Thursday morning.

Other places like Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, also suffered from power outages.
