After the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) successfully sent Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky to prison, Nigerians, even for a moment; refused to take their eyes off the commission.

As expected, Nigerians began keeping a close watch on the EFCC.

Everyone basking in ‘cho, cho, cho’. Many condemn the agency, saying it was selective in its punishment.

They are eager to see if the fight is really against the abuse of naira or perhaps, Bobrisky was just used as a scapegoat.

Whatever be the case, the EFCC has refused to fall for these traps set in insinuations.

On Tuesday evening, the commission arrested another celebrity, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana ChiefPriest for the same offence.

Cubana ChiefPriest is quite popular.

Hence reports of his arrest spread fast across social media platforms leaving his name on top of the trend chart.

ChiefPriest is very popular for his flashy lifestyle.

He is well known for always spraying huge amount of funds at events he attends.

Before we knew what was happening, multiple video clips showing Cubana ChiefPriest abusing the Nigerian Naira began to surface and in no time, it flooded the internet.

It was also gathered that the EFCC would arraign Cubana Chief Priest over the abuse of the Naira.

The anti-graft agency will arraign Cubana Chief Priest on a three-count charge of spraying and tampering with the Naira notes at a social event.

This is contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

The charge was filed on April 4, by the EFFC’s prosecutor, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN).

With him are seven other lawyers representing the executive chairman of the anti-graft Commission.

The Charges

It was alleged that Okechukwu Pascal on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel, was within the jurisdiction of the court.

While dancing during a social event, he tampered with funds in the denomination of ₦500 (Five Hundred Naira) notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours.

He thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.

Furthermore, in count 2, it was alleged “that you, Okechukwu Pascal, sometime in 2020, in Lagos during a social event.

“You tampered with funds in the denomination of ₦500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours.
You thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.”

In count 3, it was alleged: “that you, Okechukwu Pascal, sometime in January 2024, in Lagos during a social event.

“You tampered with funds in the denomination of ₦500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same.

“You thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007”.
