The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) reveals that it has received orders for 500 million new naira notes and it would be working to print them.
This was revealed by the Deputy Governor of the CBN, Aisha Ahmad, representing the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, at the House of Representatives, on Thursday.
While being grilled, Ahmad had earlier told the house that the apex bank had no idea of how many of the redesigned new naira notes had been printed.
She revealed that she did not want to give a wrong figure and this sparked up various conversations among the representatives.

She then proceeded to reveal that the apex bank is working towards the new orders of 500 million mind notes.
President Muhammadu Buhari unveiled the redesigned naira notes of the N1000, N500, and N200 denominations, in November.
