Veteran Yoruba actress, Sidikat Odunkanwi professionally known as Iyabo Oko, has been reported dead at the age of 62.

In a post on Facebook on Thursday, the daughter of the actress announced her death, saying that her mother died on Wednesday evening.

Before her demise, the late actress was said to have battled with ill-health which reportedly caused her to take a long break from the movie scene.

Though details of her death haven’t been made public, her daughter, Bisi Aisha, a female soldier, confirmed the news of her death.

“May ur soul Rest in Peace Mummy,” she wrote.

How Iyabo oko Died And Resurrected

Last year reports of Iyabo Oko’s ‘death’ had emerged and had spark huge confusion.

At the time, her daughter, Bisi Aisha, announced her death in an Instagram post on Wednesday night.

“My mum is gone. Rest well mummy. May your soul Rest In Peace mummy,” Bisi wrote.

Fellow actress Foluke Daramola-Salako also announced that the 61-year-old was dead on her Instagram page, writing “and finally we lost her. RIP Iyabo Oko. We did our best but God knows best”.

Bisi, however, returned to Instagram on Thursday morning to say her mother was not dead after all.

“Wonderful being. She moved her hand after being confirmed dead three hours ago. God, we will forever praise your HOLY name,” she wrote.

Foluke also retracted the post announcing Iyabo Oko’s death.

“Updates on Iyabo Oko. Just heard from her daughter again that she moved her hand that she’s still alive o.

“Hallelujah o she’s alive o.

“It was her same daughter that announced her death to me before and she was the one that said she’s alive now,” the 43-year-old wrote.

The actress wrote in another post: “Yes she is already in the hospital as we speak. T

“hank you everyone. We still need your prayers please”.

Bisi and Foluke later deleted their posts in which they hastily announced Iyabo Oko’s death.
