Television Continental (TVC) Hausa, has anointed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, as a man of God.
In a poll conducted on the channel’s website, the candidate was listed as ‘Pastor Peter Obi’.
Obi, however, is not a pastor and is not recognized by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) as anything other than a presidential candidate.

The said poll was aimed at predicting the 2023 presidential elections by having people vote for who they would be voting for in the elections.
Candidates of the major political parties were listed in the poll including; Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abubakar Atiku of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and, Peter Obi.
Noticing the polls, Nigerians rushed to vote, and in a few minutes, the website crashed.
Journalist, David Hundeyin has described this act as “an attempt by TVC to use religion and false descriptors to dangerously inflame politician discourse.”
