When the Lagos State government employees boarded the bus, it was a great moment for them, as they shared pleasantries and advanced towards their different locations.
At some point, some dosed off while others who were awake were either chatting or swiping the screen of their phone from one social network to another.
All of a sudden, the ill-fated moment came and they were face to face with death.
At this point there were at the Ikeja area of the State.
A passenger train had approached and crushed the Lagos state government BRT staff bus.
The March 9 incident happened at PWD junction in Ikeja area.
According to an witness, the train was traveling from Agege when it collided with the BRT vehicle carrying Lagos State government employees who were crossing the rail to connect to Ikeja GRA.
The number of casualties was unknown, but the BRT bus was smeared with fresh blood from victims.
The accident has caused traffic congestion on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway for motorists traveling from Oshodi to Ikeja-Along.
