The Nigeria Service Chiefs are currently responding to inquiries from the National Assembly over the state of insecurity in the country.

Service Chiefs At National Assembly 

The security chiefs arrived at the National Assembly on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, in response to a Senate resolution for an interaction.

They entered the hallowed Chambers at 12:39 p.m. to meet with the Senate Committee.

The invitation of the Service Chiefs was prompted by the alarming levels of insecurity, with Abuja, the Federal Capital, under siege.

They are also expected to brief the chamber on the infiltration of bandits and kidnappers into the FCT to find a lasting solution to the situation.

However, the insecurity also stretches to some parts of the southwest states such as Ekiti and Lagos.

The Senate had in a unanimous decision after an an emergency session on the first legislative day of the year.

On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the Senate summoned the service chiefs over the spate of insecurity in the country.

Nigerians are hoping that the FG find a lasting solution to the insecurity that has eaten deep into the country.

War Against Insecurity

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, reiterated his administration’s commitment to ending the insecurity plaguing the country.

The President stated this when he inducted two T129 Attack Combat Helicopters.

Also, one King Air Beechcraft 360ER mobility aircraft for use by the Nigerian Air Force.

Represented by his Vice President Kashim Shettima, the President said the acquisition of the helicopters and the induction symbolised the commitment of his administration to the nation’s security.
