However, the presidency has shared some details about the meeting between President Tinubu and King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in London.
The details of the meeting between the two leaders was shared by the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to Onanuga, during the meeting, Tinubu reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to addressing climate change while ensuring energy security.
Onanuga spoke via a statement on Thursday.
He emphasised the nature of the private high-level discussion between President Tinubu and King Charles.
He disclosed that the meeting centred on potential areas of collaboration.
The meeting is ahead of the upcoming COP 29 Summit in Azerbaijan and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa.
The presidential aide noted that both leaders discussed efforts targeted at strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
During the meeting, President Tinubu echoed his country’s readiness to implement global sustainability strategies.
This, according to him is in line with the country’s developmental goals.

However, Onanuga highlighted the importance of balancing climate action with energy security to meet the needs of Nigeria’s growing population and economy.
The dialogue also included approaches to climate financing, with both leaders expressing a mutual interest in forging stronger partnerships.
This will be the two leaders’ first meeting since they met in Dubai at the COP 28 Climate Summit last year.
Onanuga noted that the latest meeting was at the King’s request.
