When neighbours began hearing gunshots, fear enveloped them, and all they could do was call the police.
When the sound of gunshots ended, 10 members of the same family were already dead.
The attack happened in their home in South Africa.
According to the police, the family members killed consist of seven females and three males.
They were killed during an ambush in their home near the city of Pietermaritzburg.
Police Minister, Bheki Cele, says two suspects have been arrested.
However, one of the suspects was shot dead and another is still at large.
Also, the motive for the attack remains unclear.
The police say they were first alerted to the shooting after neighbours heard gunshots.

Mr. Cele said one of the victims is about 13 years old.
“It’s a crime scene, terrible. Too many people were lost here,” the police minister says.
“They have arrested two people, one was injured, one is dead, one ran away and three firearms were recovered,” he told reporters.
According to local media, the gunmen managed to gain entry to the property after posing as police officers.
Mr. Cele confirms that they had located the suspects at the house of a witch doctor – a traditional healer – where they had sought refuge.
According to the police, the suspect that was shot dead has been on the force’s wanted list for a very long time.
