Toni Kroos was the star of the show in Real Madrid’s victory over Cádiz at the Santiago Bernabéu. The German assisted Militão to make it 1-0 and he scored the second with a spectacular right-footed shot from outside the box.
After losing 3-2 to Rayo Vallecano on Monday, the champions picked up their form and are now second in the standings with 35 points, two behind leaders Barcelona.
With La Liga now out of action until December 31, the race for the title is heating up. Barcelona lead the way having dropped just five points, with Real Madrid right on their tail. Cadiz, meanwhile, are second from bottom with just 11 points.
At the end of the game Toni Kross said: “The way the ball came I couldn’t shoot with the inside of my boot. I was able to help the team with the goal and I’m happy. We put in a good performance, barring the last 10 minutes. We had chances but at the end we suffered a little with an unneeded goal. I think it was a good game and a deserved victory.”
