More than 316,071 people have signed an online petition urging the authorities of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union to revoke the visas of Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Their decision follows allegations against the INEC, with regards to the February 25 presidential election.
Basically, they say INEC rigged the election in favour of Bola Tinubu, the candidate for the ruling All Progressives Congress.
At the time this article was filed, the petition, which was initiated on Thursday morning, had 316,071 signatures.
“Mahmood Yakubu refused to carry out the people’s will, therefore I began this petition.
“Against the wishes of Nigerian voters, he rigged the election in favour of the APC.
“I am so happy to meet others who share my interests. You guys are awesome. Let’s continue sharing,” the petition’s creator, who goes by the name Osusu, stated.
Wednesday morning, Tinubu was formally proclaimed the winner by INEC chairman, Yakubu.
After receiving 8,794,726 votes to win the 2023 presidential election, Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, was named the new president.

Tinubu triumphed over rival candidates Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
Furthermore, due to allegations of election cheating by Nigeria’s electoral agency, INEC, the Labour Party has rejected the election’s outcome. It has threatened to file a lawsuit to overturn Tinubu’s victory.
In a statement, Julius Abure, the party’s national chairman, referred to the election results as a rape of the nation’s democracy.
After the public cast their votes for the candidates of their choice, the LP chairman claimed that the results had been rigged.
