When a person is pushed to the wall, they have no choice but to speak out, this is now the case for Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian music star, Mohbad.
After months of silence, she has finally broken come to the public with something they could hear.
She reveals the chilling threats she faces daily.
In an emotional and explosive interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Omowunmi opened up for the first time about the struggles she has endured since her husband’s tragic and controversial passing in September 2023.
According to her, both she and her one-year-old son, Liam, now live in constant fear.
“I literally get death threats almost every day in my DMs,” she revealed.
“It has gotten to a point where it’s either I speak up or I die in silence.”
Omowunmi alleged that she had been physically attacked by Mohbad’s former record label boss, Naira Marley, and his associates.
Also, she further accused her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, of being a major source of distress.
She claims he is determined to take control of her late husband’s assets and has resorted to tarnishing her reputation to achieve his aim.
“My father-in-law, the same man who officiated my marriage to my late husband, was once the happiest person in our lives. Now, he calls our son a bastard. He said Liam has bow legs, and that no one in their family has such. He even went as far as claiming that my husband wanted to throw my baby into the Third Mainland Bridge,” she revealed in distress.
Mohbad’s Death
Mohbad’s untimely death remains one of the most controversial tragedies in Nigeria’s music industry.
After Mohbad’s sudden demise, which was shrouded in mystery, fingers were pointed at Naira Marley and Sam Larry, particularly after a disturbing video surfaced online showing the late singer being assaulted.
Also, public outcry led to their arrest and arraignment on October 6, 2023.
Though they pleaded not guilty and were eventually granted bail, the suspicions surrounding their involvement in the young star’s death have refused to fade away.

Now, Omowunmi is calling for justice, not just for herself, but for her late husband and their child.
“We no longer feel safe,” she reiterated.
She makes a desperate plea for protection.
Meanwhile, there have been many calls for a DNA test to ascertain the paternity of the boy.
Despite the calls, things have stayed the way they are.
Also, the police have not been able to present further evidence that Mohbad’s death was not a natural death.
