Peter Obi, Labour Party presidential candidate in the February election, has expressed shock over the deaths of 15 Salvation Army Ministry members in a vehicle accident.
Obi sent condolences on Saturday via his official Twitter account.
On Thursday, June 29,2023, they were killed in an accident on the Benin-Lagos motorway.

The terrible tragedy occurred near Benin City, the capital of Edo State, on a bridge across the Ovia River.
As a result, 12 pastors, a baby, and the driver were killed, while others were hospitalised.
“I received the heartbreaking report of a fatal road accident involving Salvation Army members with shock,” Obi wrote.
“I pray for the injured to recover quickly. May God grant the dead eternal rest.”
Similarly, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno expressed condolences to the families of those who died as well as the Salvation Army Ministry.
