Nigerians are on a very serious search for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) new naira notes.
The search for the new naira notes currently seems to have surpassed the quest to acquire the US dollar whose value has continued to soar in the foreign exchange market.

Some Automated Teller Machines (ATM) in banks have been working overtime due to insufficient supply of the new naira notes to the banks which has led to crowding of the ATM.
The recent crowd level on queues at the ATM’s this days is enough to make somebody reconsider embarking on the venture.
The queues all around ATM is gradually becoming normal, you stay on the line hoping and praying that when it gets to your turn there will still be money in the machine.
The situation is not getting better at all anywhere, even with all the assurances from the CBN. The people cannot get to collect the money they deposited with their banks as at when needed these days without joining the trending ATM queue.
Making withdrawals from the Point of Sale operators (POS), is another kettle of fish, as these ones, are now taking the advantage of people’s needs.

Knowing fully well that banks have disappointed their customers who have resorted to using the POS as last option, the POS operators too are now cashing in on the opportunity to rob the Nigerian masses.
The new naira notes are not in the banks where the CBN said they were, the POS operators who have little of it, charge exorbitantly per withdrawal, while the Bureau De Change (BDC) operators who have it in bundles are flaunting it.
Only God knows how long will this pathetic situation persist where you have money but cannot access it due to some unscrupulous policies of CBN.
