Anger is spreading from state to state amidst the scarcity of naira notes and petrol in Nigeria. The First Bank of Nigeria is now counting their loses as a result.
While the cost of getting naira notes is rising, transportation cost is also rising as a result of petrol scarcity.
One reason people need cash is for movement, using transport system that is not modern and for which payment must be made with cash.
A First Bank branch in Abeokuta, got a share of the boiling anger of residents of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
For days, a visit to banks in the state has yielded no result, even when the apex bank continues to say it has disbursed the new naira notes.
The lack of naira notes to meet daily demands had triggered protest and the banks easily became the targets.

The protesters took to many roads, blocking them off from commuters.
For hours they held sway, chanting protest songs and moving around with dangerous weapons whilst the residents scampered for safety.

The protesters also invaded busy roads with sticks, woods, and other dangerous weapons, as they moved around burning and tearing public places down.
After hours, security operatives were however deployed to the locations to restore peace in the area.
