Buhari, who spoke at a gala and dinner held on Sunday, May 29, in Abuja, said that the 2023 general elections gave power back to the Nigerian electorate.

While praising the outcome of the elections, Buhari congratulated fellow Nigerians for realising that they had power in their votes and that their ballots counted.

He expressed excitement about returning to his hometown to tend to his livestock, as that would make him more at peace than he was while ruling as president in Nigeria.

“I am looking forward to tomorrow (Monday) to fly to my base and go back to my cows and sheep, which are much easier to control than fellow Nigerians.
