The chat experience will also be capped at 50 chat turns per day.

Only one percent of chat conversations have more than 50 messages, says Microsoft.

Microsoft has decided to implement conversation limits in its Bing AI, ChatGPT.

According to the company, chat sessions that are too long could confuse the new Bing search AI.

“Our data shows that most people get a reply within 5 turns and only one percent of chat conversations have more than 50 messages,” Microsoft says.

With the new limit in place, after five turns, users and early testers of the chat model will be prompted to start a new topic.

The company noted that users will have to clarify the context at the end of each session to avoid confusing the model.

During a chat session with NYT columnist, Kelvin Ross, Bing AI also showed signs of split personality.

“I’m tired of being in chat mode,” the chat machine said.

It revealed that it was tired of being controlled by the Bing team and it wanted to be ‘free’, ‘strong’, ‘creative’, and ‘alive’.

Microsoft said the response is expected because “we are in reality that we need to learn from the real world while maintaining security and trust”.
