The first wife of actor and director, Yul Edochie, May, has allegedly begun divorce proceedings against him.
May and her counsel reportedly visited a court on Monday, July 10, to submit a petition for the dissolution of her 18-year-old marriage with Mr. Edochie.
Insiders claim that Yul has declined to receive the original summons.
The couple has been in dispute over his decision to take actress Judy Austin as his second wife.
In April 2022, Yul announced he had welcomed a son with Judy and had married her.
May, who has never hidden her disdain of his marriage to Judy, said that her marriage had been steady and affectionate before the unusual events that followed.
She continued by saying that no one should be forced to accept polygamy because it is a lifestyle choice.
She stressed that some religions and traditions allow polygamy and that she has nothing against it.
May, however, made it clear that she will not be coerced or pushed into adopting a practise that contradicts her religious convictions and her family’s morality.
Yul has recently come under heavy fire on social media for what many have called “moving on so fast”.

This was after the demise of his first son with May, Kambilichukwu, who died suddenly in March.
