We’ll support Gov. Ugwuanyi till end of his tenure – Senator Eze

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the 2019 election, Senator Ayogu Eze has reaffirmed his total support for Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration.

DAILY POST reports that Eze spoke in his country home, Umuida, in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of the State during the inauguration of a water project.

The project was done with the N5m grant received by the community from the Enugu State Government. Senator Eze, who represented Enugu North Senatorial Zone, provided the generator for its use.

Speaking at the event, he said it would go a long way in solving the water needs of the people, that efforts would be made to reticulate the water.

“We will make sure that the water is reticulated; I will meet the governor over this; I thank the people of Umuida for making this possible.

“I want you to tell the governor that this is a very enterprising community that worked in partnership with the Igwe and were able to make this happen, through a grant from the Enugu State Government.

“The community tasked themselves to make this project a reality; when they finished, they had a challenge of bringing out the water, so they ran to me, and said what do we do, so we donated a brand new generator to them to make this project a reality.

We are also promising that we are going to liaise with both the State and the Federal Government to make sure that we reticulate this water so that our people can fetch it in the comfort of their homes.”

He assured Gov. Ugwuanyi that “our community will continue to work with him. We are going to be bringing ideas for rural development. We are going to partner with the Governor to open up our communities the more. We thank the Governor for his friendship, for the grant he gave to our community, which was what helped in building this project.

“We will continue to work, support him to ensure that he finishes his term without any trouble.”

In his speech, the Enugu State Commissioner for Rural Development, Prince Emeka Mamah hailed Senator Eze and the community for the initiative.

He described Umuida as a privileged community, stressing “there are people in Umuida that remember the people and their needs. I will not fail to mention Senator Ayogu Eze; that is why people pray to have such people in their place.”

Mamah, however, gave heavy knocks on some communities, accusing them of misusing the N5m grant from the State Government.

“The Government of Enugu State had given N5m to all the communities, but this N5m most of these communities have not also utilized that N5m to a particular identifiable project, but I can see this one.

“In the last exco we did before the budget was approved, I pleaded with the governor to also include the second tranche of that N5m, which he did. So, hopefully, the N5m will also come to these communities. I have also asked him to give me the approval to go round the communities to see what the N5m was used for, if it was not used, for us to know what we are going to do to those communities.

“Today, I will proudly go home to Enugu to tell him that the N5m brought was actually used for this water borehole being at Umuadogwa today. So, I thank our people and thank Distinguished Senator Ayogu Eze because we know what it takes to do bore-hole and power it,” he said.

Meanwhile, Senator Eze, while speaking to journalists later, explained the reason behind the delay in the Ogrute-Kogi Road.

According to him, “It has not been abandoned; it is just that the work is skeletal. As we were coming out now, we say the PW vehicle, if you look inside that yard, you will see heaps and heaps of granite and laterite. Maybe because I am no longer in the Senate, there is no sufficient push for funding. I am going to go back and find out how much has been made available for it in this year’s budget and follow it up.

“The problem was that when they wanted to start the project, the local people, without my knowledge, were charging them a lot of money for laterite, so they went to where they had easy access to laterite and that is why they started from the Kogi end. They have tarred a sizeable portion coming from the Kogi end.”

“I don’t have an answer to this individually because I have not been adequately briefed on the new stand.

“I have just heard of that from you (newsmen) now. I will try to find out the position of the governors of the South West states. You know I do not speak for the governors. “If what you are saying is true, there will be an appropriate reaction to it,” Fayemi said.

Agriculture will create millions of jobs in Nigeria – Adama J. Adama, CEO, Farm4Me

As the federal government of Nigeria continues to harp on the need for all Nigerians to go into farming, young Nigerian, Adama J Adama, has floated Farm4Me.com.ng, the nation’s number one Agritech Company.

Advertisements

The outfit is on a mission to put smiles on the faces of smallholder farmers, create jobs for vulnerable women and youths and make a decent profit for working class Nigerians.

Speaking on the idea behind Farm4Me.com.ng, the set man, Adama, said “The idea was born out of an IFAD Value Chain Seminar on e-Commerce and Agribusiness anchored by Adama J. Adama at the CBN Entrepreneurship Development Centre in March 2017.

Advertisements

Farm4Me.com.ng came alive when we secured our first 100 Hectares farmland. We got our first Client who took over the entire 100 Hectares farmland and requested for 400 Hectares more. So we upped our game and secured more partnership with land owners that give us access to over 254, 000 hectares of farmland across Nigeria.

“Presently, Clients have signed up with us with over 2800 hectares of farmland. There are ongoing deals worth over 50, 000 hectares to close. We work with 52, 345 registered smallholder farmers and we are creating jobs for 23, 563 vulnerable women and youths.

Advertisements

“Farm4Me is the most sought after online farming platform in Nigeria. The secret is simple – we actually farm for our Clients and they own the farm 100%. We also make sure that their invested capital is not lost if the farm doesn’t yield. We make 100% refund.

“Our mission is to put smiles on the faces of smallholder farmers, create jobs for vulnerable women and youths and make a decent profit for working class Nigerians who give us money to farm for them.

“Our vision is to become a household name in Nigeria through our visible impact.

“Our Business Model – we charge 10% of the total cost of farming from land clearing to harvest as farm management fee. Or you simply pay us in kind with 10% of the total farm harvest. You could lease the farmland or pay the land owner 10% of the total farm harvest.

“We are Innovative Farmers passionate about bringing the world’s attention to the agribusiness opportunities in Nigeria.

“So individuals, companies and organizations passionate about Agriculture could partner with us to grow food at scale to curb global hunger and poverty. We desire to engage jobless and  vulnerable Youths and Women in Agriculture to create wealth.

Advertisements

“Our process is simple and transparent. We keep you in the loop on the farm progress. You can visit the farm any time, any day. You choose to harvest the farm produce yourself or allow us harvest for you. You have the freedom to choose the type of farm you want.

“We sell fresh farm produce online at our Online Shop. We have a growing Online Directory of Farmers, Cooperatives, Agribusiness Companies and Organizations in Nigeria. We also into farm equipment rentals, improved seeds supply and produce supply.

Speaking in his challenges, the young man said, “The major challenge facing our business is lack of farm equipment to meet the high demand. We tractors and other farm equipment we have are not enough for our clients. Some clients are asking for equipment that are not easy to access in Nigeria.

“Farm equipment are costly. We are open to financing options from banks and farm equipment dealers or manufacturers will help us procure more equipment.

“The other challenge is lack of trust. But the daring Clients are trusting us with their hard earned money. I even went as far as getting Police Character Certificate that captured all my finger prints and a Leadway Insurance Certificate. We are in this for the long term. And will earn the trust of Nigerians with time.

“I think Agriculture  is capable of tackling your unemployment in Nigeria. There is a high demand for farm produce locally and globally. We have huge orders, we can’t fulfill. It is also easier to start a farm with little capital.

“We are also taking the risk from farming. For instance, and if you pay us to farm for you and it didn’t yield as expected, we pay you your money back. That is the agreement we enter into with our Clients before they pay us to farm for them. So the risk is on us. So Nigerian graduates can profit greatly from Agriculture.

“We also discovered that it is cheaper and faster to engage in mechanized farming than the subsistence farming that scared many young Nigerians away from farming. With just N40, 000 per day, a tractor can cultivate at least 5 hectares of farmland. That is N8, 000 per hectare. Engage human beings to do that same work and it will take days and cost you more money.

“So Nigerians will embrace mechanized farming and make good money from it. There is also a great opportunity to make money supplying commodities to buyers. This will give thousands of Nigerians decent jobs. There is money in Agriculture. On our part we are educating Nigerians on these agribusiness opportunities in Nigeria through our blog, radio and TV programs. I see agriculture employing millions of Nigerians in the coming years.”

Ihedioha’s Sack: Prophet Udensi’s predictions, warnings for Imo State revealed [VIDEO]

Fresh facts have emerged over the circumstances surrounding the removal of the Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State from seat by the Supreme Court.

Advertisements

Recall that Ihedioha was sacked on Tuesday by a 5-man panel of the apex court and declared Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress, APC, winner of the election.

However, video clips have emerged on how Prophet Udensi Godlove of Land of Oil Prophetic Ministry AKA, Hill of the Lord, Lagos State, warned Ihedioha against troubling his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha or risks losing his seat.

Advertisements

Prophet Udensi, who prophesied the Otedola tanker explosion, had during Sunday services in his Church, warned Ihedioha to desist from fighting Okorocha, saying those the latter had helped were praying for him.

In the clips obtained by DAILY POST, the prophet warned that: “The present Governor of Imo State, the one they called Emeka, they should warn him that ‘agwo no na akrikia’. The lord said the way he’s fighting the past one is the same way they will fight him and he will not go for second term.

Advertisements

“That they will still use this very method to fight him. He’s sowing a seed. He should be careful and withdraw his hand from Rochas. There are some orphans that Rochas has trained and their prayers will fight him. He will not go for second term. So, if the governor does withdraw from fighting Rochas, calamity will enter his house. You will hear it.

“You see that Governor of Imo State, if he does not leave Okorocha that he’s fighting, he will not go for second term. I have seen the Imo election of 2023 and the man is not in the picture. That Okorocha that Ihedioha is fighting has been training some widows and orphans and they have cried to God. If you know that man, tell him to leave Rochas alone. If he continues to fight that Rochas, he will not stay in the office to even go for second term. If he does not stop fighting Okorocha, God will bring a new person who has never been Governor to take over.”

In July 2019, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission sealed some properties owned by former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha on the order of his successor, Ihedioha.

The properties include Dews of Hope Hospital traced to Dr Paschal Obi, ex-principal Secretary to Okorocha, Market Square Supermarket, All in One Shop, and premises belonging to Imo State Broadcasting Corporation now hosting Rochas Foundation College owned by Senator Okorocha.

Similarly, Fr. Ejike Mbaka of Adoration Ministries had during his New Year message predicted that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Hope Uzodinma, will take over from Emeka Ihedioha as Imo Governor in 2020. https://dailypost.ng/2020/01/01/2020-hope-uzodimma-will-take-over-imo-state-fr-mbaka-in-shocking-message/

Iran: Trump blast Gen Qassem Soleimani even in death

U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized the late Iranian General, Qassem Soleimani who was killed last month, calling him ‘son of a bitch’.

Advertisements

Trump told a rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Tuesday that there were many “young men and women walking around without arms and without legs” because of Soleimani.

“Great percentages of people don’t have legs and arms because of this son of a bitch,” Trump said, adding that “he should have been killed 20 years ago.” NAN reports.

Trump was this week forced to defend the targeted killing of Soleimani after critics questioned the “imminent” nature of the threat the president said justified the move.

Iran retaliated against the Soleimani attack by firing ballistic missiles at an Iraqi base housing U.S. forces.

The assassination of powerful Iranian army chief, Qassem Soleimani by the US government has escalated tensions in the Middle East.

Last Sunday, four Iraqi soldiers were wounded after eight Katyusha rockets were fired at the Al Balad air base being the second time in less than a week.

Messi names toughest defender he has played against

Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi has named Girona’s Pablo Maffeo as one of the toughest defenders he has come up across in his glittering career.

Advertisements

Messi played against Maffeo in Barca’s 3-0 win over Girona in 2017 and was man-marked by the 22-year-old.

The Argentine endured a frustrating night, as his impact in the match was reduced by Maffeo.

Asked if he feared any defender in his career, Messi claims he’s not bothered by the man marking but named Maffeo as his most complicated marker.

“Man marking doesn’t bother me, but you already know that there will be bad matches, it is strange to always have someone around,” Messi told La Liga on DAZN.

“In truth it hasn’t happened to me so often. It doesn’t bother me, but it is strange.”

Messi added: “Pablo Maffeo of Girona. That was too exaggerated.

“I’ve never been one who complains. I think physical contact and kicks are part of the game.

“I get more annoyed when I played bad and I get a little more angry. But if I’m not, it’s not a problem, it’s part of the game and I don’t take it badly.”

Maffeo, who is currently owned by Stuttgart, has also played for Manchester City on loan.

Ogun: Confusion as Imeko-Afon APC leaders tackle Gov Abiodun

Some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imeko-Afon Local Government, have denied knowledge of Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.

Advertisements

Isiaka who was the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alongside other leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) like former Deputy Governor, Salmot Badru, were received into the APC at an event held at Ake Palace Square in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

At the event, Gov Abiodun described Isiaka as coming into the ruling party through the right channel.

Advertisements

Abiodun said Isiaka did not come through the backdoor like some decampees; apparently making a veiled reference to Hon. Adekunle Akinlade and his supporters, who just returned to the APC from the Allied People’s Movement.

But arising from a meeting at Isiaka’s Imeko-Afon Local Government yesterday, the APC leaders, who prided themselves as the authentic party faithful in the area, said they were not aware of the three-time governorship candidate’s defection to the APC; saying he did not follow the right channel.

Advertisements

In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday, the APC leaders, said Isiaka, fondly addressed as GNI, did not inform party leaders at ward and local government levels that he was joining the progressives.

DAILY POST reports that the statement was jointly signed by Dr Dele Ogunsiji, a former Commissioner and House of Representatives member; Alhaji Gausu Bello, Imeko-Afon LG APC Party Chairman; the immediate past Executive Chairman of Imeko-Afon LG, Prince Tosin Adeluyi; immediate past Vice-Chairman of Imeko-Afon LG, Alhaja Taiwo Olusoji and Hon. Dopemu Felix.

“We the authentic APC leaders in Imeko-Afon Local Government, where Isiaka comes from, unanimously deny knowledge of the news of his defection to the APC as he did not follow the right channel.

“The APC Chairman from his ward is not aware of the movement; the leaders and elders of the local government were also not in the know.”

“GNI is our brother, but he is not ready to join the APC because we are not aware of him decamping to our party.

“As far as we are concerned, GNI remains a member of the ADC because we are not aware of any arrangements to bring him into the APC,” they said in the statement.

Recall that the Ogun APC Spokesman, Tunde Oladunjoye, recently said anybody joining the party must register at his ward and local government before moving to the state level.

But, Fani-Kayode reacting said he believed that Buhari government will not be in support of the Southwest security outfit because of the interest of herdsmen.

According to him, the present administration’s primary interest is to protect herdsmen not ‘sons of Oduduwa’

On his Twitter page, Fani-Kayode wrote: “Not surprised that AG said Operation Amotekun is illegal.

“Anybody that believes that a Govt. whose primary interest is to protect the interest and further the fortunes of the Fulani & their herdsmen would want the sons of Oduduwa to defend themselves against mass murder is naive.”
