Bayern Munich are remarkably closing in on appointing relegated Burnley boss, Vincent Kompany, as Thomas Tuchel’s successor.

Kompany Set To Become Bayern Munich's New Manager

According to The Telegraph, the Bundesliga giants are in advanced talks to appoint Kompany as their new manager and could formally announce the Burnley boss’ arrival in the next couple of days.

Bayern, however, will have to pay compensation to the Clarets, as the 38-year-old has an active contract at Turf Moor until 2028.

The report further claimed that the former Manchester City captain will take his entire coaching staff to Allianz Arena, including assistant manager Craig Bellamy and first-team coaches Piet Cremers, Mike Jackson and Floribert N’Galula.

Kompany retired from professional football in 2020, having won four Premier League titles as the Cityzens’ captain.

Upon retirement, he took charge of Belgian side Anderlecht and managed for three years before heading to Burnley in 2022.

The former defender led the team to victory in the Championship and promotion to the Premier League in his first season in charge.

However, they only managed to stay in the top tier for a single season before returning to the second level after finishing 19th in the 2023–24 season.
