The 54-year-old actress, Jennifer Lopez, shared insights into her latest project, “This is Me…Now: A Love Story,” during an interview at the Four Seasons Los Angeles in Beverly Hills alongside her producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.
Lopez revealed that facing initial skepticism and financial setbacks, they decided to push forward with the project.
When funding fell through at the last minute, they were faced with a crucial decision: whether to proceed with just making a video or to fully commit to bringing their vision to life.
Goldsmith-Thomas admitted to feeling terrified when the financing fell through, but she remained steadfast in her belief in Lopez’s talent and determination.
Lopez, in turn, remained open to feedback and notes from others while understanding the risks involved in self-financing such a venture.
“This is Me…Now: A Love Story” is set to premiere on Prime Video on Feb. 16, coinciding with Lopez’s first studio album release in a decade.
The project boasts an impressive lineup of stars, including Jane Fonda, Trevor Noah, Fat Joe, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Jay Shetty, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Kim Petras, and others.
One particularly notable contribution to the project comes from Lopez’s real-life husband, Ben Affleck.
Lopez shared insights into the strategy behind his role in a script she co-wrote with Matt Walton, based on an original story by Lopez, the film’s director Dave Meyers, and Chris Shafer.
