Hollywood star Idris Elba is going to direct a short film in Lagos called “Dust to Dreams” with Nigerian filmmaker Mo Abudu.

The film is about a mother and her teenage daughter meeting the father for the first time.

Mo Abudu shared more about the film on her Instagram. It will star British-Nigerian music star Seal, Nollywood stars Nse Ikpe-Etim, Eku Edewor, Atlanta Bridget Johnson, and former Nigerian Idol contestant Constance Olatunde.

This film is a collaboration between EbonyLife Films and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) through its Creative Africa Nexus (Canex) program.

“Dust to Dreams” is the first big project from a deal Abudu and Elba made in 2023 through their companies EbonyLife Media and Green Door Pictures.

Abudu is the creator of the film and will be the executive producer and producer. Heidi Uys is the supervising producer, and other co-producers are Temidayo Makanjuola, Inem King, and Vanessa Demme.
