The detention of the presidential candidate the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi at London’s Heathrow Airport continues to stir controversy among Nigerians.

Peter Obi, was detained for hours on Friday at the Airport over alleged impersonation.

The former Anambra State governor was later released after he was interrogated by UK immigration officials.

In the unfolding of events, a huge propaganda by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) against Obi was exposed.

The act has attracted so much mockery to the ruling party.

False Claims

A claim by a former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, about Obi’s release turned out to be false.

Garba in a post via Twitter on Thursday asserted that the APC-led federal government facilitated the release of Peter Obi from the detention cell in the United Kingdom.

Garba took to his Twitter page to share a photoshop image claiming Peter Obi’s release was facilitated by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission headed by Abike Dabiri.

He claims that everything about Peter Obi is fake and applauded Abike for facilitating his release.

“Here is how the government of APC helped to recover Peter Obi from his detention cell in the UK over allegations of travelling to the UK with fake documents.

“All thanks to Abike Dabiri.

Photoshopped

However, the photo that Adamu Garba shared on his page turned out to be a photoshopped image.

Garba’s propaganda was exposed by supporters of Peter Obi often referred to as ‘Obidients’.

The ‘Obidients’ did not hesitate to call out the ruling party for stooping so low. Many said they were not surprised, as the party is popular for such things.
