A €100 million (£86m/$109m) transfer took him to Germany, with an immediate return delivered on that investment with a flurry of 25 goals through 22 appearances.

Gomes, who spent time alongside Kane in north London, has told talkSPORT of the 30-year-old frontman cementing his standing among the global elite:

“He’s proving now that he’s not just in a comfortable zone.

“Also, he’s a different player.”

Kane’s character, alongside his considerable ability, has carried him to the very top of the game.

However, Gomes has offered an example of what sets the prolific frontman apart, with it clear from a young age that he was not going to be held back.
