Graham Potter has reached a verbal agreement to become the new Chelsea head coach.
Brighton yesterday granted Potter permission to speak to Chelsea following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel in the morning. Mauricio Pochettino was also considered for the vacant role, but it looks as if though Potter is the man.
The agreement was reached after Potter met Todd Boehly in London on Wednesday for talks over the role.
No contracts have been signed just yet, but Potter is expected to become the Blues’ new manager with the club hoping to appoint him before Saturday afternoon’s Premier League match with Fulham.
The former Swansea City manager has done a tremendous job at the Amex Stadium, especially over the past year. He guided Brighton to a top-half finish last term; the Seagulls’ best-ever finish in the Premier League.
